Last night, a woman and her baby were in a car leaving the Villages Apartments (located on Village Brook Drive) when a man in a white van drove up and blocked her in. The armed robber grabbed the woman's baby and held her hostage until the woman handed over her purse.Police believe the same suspect is responsible for another robbery that occurred in the same apartment complex ten minutes prior. The victim said the suspect held the shotgun to his stomach, patted him down and robbed him of his money.
The suspect is a black male, approx. 5'10" with dreadlocks. He was wearing blue jeans, a dark sweater and a mask. He was driving a white Chevy Express van with a roof rack and a NC plate beginning with WSM. If you have any information that can help police, please call Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.
