Suspect Arrested for Murder of 92-Year Old Woman

UPDATE:   On May 12, 2011, Gordan McMullen plead guilty to first degree murder, robbery with a dangerous weapon, first-degree kidnapping and felony breaking and entering in the death of Mildred P. Clontz.  He will spend the rest of his life in prison.

Homicide detectives have identified 58-year old Gordon Franklin McMullen as the individual charged with the brutal murder of 92-year old Mildred Clontz.

McMullen followed Clontz home from church and shoved her into her home before stabbing her in the neck, back and chest.  He then stole her purse and took off.  Ms. Clontz was able to call 911 but she died from her injuries the following day.

McMullen is a habitual felon whose previous convictions include credit card theft, larceny, robbery with a dangerous weapon and forgery/counterfeiting.
