Last month, an Independence High School teacher and coach was arrested after he was accused of taking naked photos of students at his Concord home. Michael Randolph Tye is facing charges of first degree sexual exploitation of a minor and indecent liberties with a student.
Police say he promised two different boys money to come to his house in Concord and pose for pictures. Captain Gary Hatley describes those pictures as "pornographic." He said, "Fully clothed, undressed, and fully undressed."
Tye taught psychology at Independence High School and he was a swim coach. Tye has been with the CMS district since 1994 and with Independence High School since 2002. He was previously with Morgan School.
