CMPD Investigating a Shooting on Christenbury Hills Lane

Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department Homicide Unit and Assault with a Deadly Weapon Unit are investigating a shooting that occurred at 6:32 pm in the 4500 block of Christenbury Hills Lane in the CMPD North Division.  The victim’s identity will be released when his next-of-kin has been notified.

CMPD North Division officers initially responded to a 911 call placed by the victim who fled the scene of the shooting and subsequently crashed his car at the 5800 block of Sugar Creek Road.  Officers arrived on scene and located the shooting victim who stated that he was shot while inside his vehicle on Christenbury Hills Lane.  

The victim was transported to Carolinas Medical Center where he underwent surgery for life threatening injuries. Officers responded to the Christenbury Hills Lane and located the scene of the shooting and Crime Scene Search responded to the scene of the shooting to collect physical evidence and they processed the victim’s vehicle at police headquarters.
