CMPD Officer Busts Man During B&E on Monroe Rd

On April 26th, at approx.11:00 pm, a CMPD Providence Division Officer was patrolling in a marked police vehicle along Monroe Road when they observed a man sitting in the passenger seat of a vehicle parked in the driveway of a home in the 3400 block of Monroe Road.

As the Officer passed by,  he noticed the suspect exit the vehicle and walk away from the scene- so t
he officer turned his cruiser around to investigate the situation.  The officer detained the suspect and located the owner of the vehicle.  The owner indicated that he did not give the suspect permission or authority to enter his vehicle and he left his car doors unlocked.  A search of the suspect resulted in officers finding property belonging to the victim.
Daryl Eugene Hamilton was charged with Breaking and Entering of Motor Vehicle and Larceny after B&E.  This is Hamilton's 9th arrest in Mecklenburg County since September 2009.
