B&E Suspects Busted by CMPD's 'Pawn Tracker' System

Antoine Davis
On April 13th at approx. 6:15 am., CMPD Independence Division officers were dispatched to the 5700 block of Cedars East Court for a report of a residential breaking and entering.  Officers arrived and met with the victim who stated she got up that morning and discovered the back door of her home was open and her desktop computer had been taken.

Officers contacted the store in which the victim purchased the computer and obtained the computer's serial number and ran the number through the department’s 'Pawn Tracker System.'   Officers received a positive hit indicating Antoine Davis conducted a transaction involving the computer at a pawn shop located on South Blvd. Officers placed a hold on the item and obtained a warrant for Davis.

On May 6th, Antoine Davis was arrested and charged with Residential Breaking and Entering.  Davis confessed to the crime and told officers that John Martin Tilghman was involved in the crime.  Police arrested John Tilgham on May 9, 2011.

The CMPD urges the community to record and save serial numbers of their property in the event it’s ever stolen. To learn more about the Pawn Tracker System, please click here.
