Detectives Conducting Homicide Investigation in Eastway Division

UPDATE II:  The Homicide Unit obtained arrest warrants for Murder and Robbery with a Dangerous weapon on Eric Blackmon for the murder of Miguel Angel Audon’ Corado. The Violent Criminal Apprehension Team (VCAT) arrested Mr. Blackmon on Belle Bragg Way without incident and Eric Blackmon is in the custody of the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office, where he is being held without bond.

UPDATE I:  CMPD Homicide detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department are attempting to identify the subject shown in the photos.  He is suspected to be driving the white Volvo shown in photo two. This subject is only wanted for questioning in regards to this homicide.

Wanted for Questioning
May 15, 2011:  CMPD Assault w/ Deadly Weapon and Homicide Units are conducting an investigation into a shooting at 1435 Wembly Drive in the Eastway Division. The call for service came in at 7:26 pm. The deceased victim has been identified as Miguel Angel Audon-Corado.

CMPD Eastway Division Officers responded to a shooting that took place in the parking lot of the apartment building. Medic pronounced the victim deceased on scene at 7:41 pm.  Based on initial statements from witnesses at the scene, an unknown black male subject approached the victim and shot him. Witnesses have been transported to police headquarters for questioning.


Crime Scene Search responded to collect physical evidence and photograph the scene.  Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call 704-432-TIPS and speak directly to a Homicide Unit Detective. Detective Abbott is the lead detective assigned to the case. In addition, you may also call Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.
