Alert Citizen Helps Nab Breaking & Entering Suspects

On June 14, 2011, at approximately 12:45 pm, CMPD University City Division Officers responded to a residential breaking and entering call in progress at a home located in the 2300 block of Carved Tree Lane.  An alert neighbor called 911 stating several young men forced their way into his neighbors home which was unoccupied at the time. 

Moments after the suspects descriptions were broadcast over the police radio, CMPD patrol officers located individuals matching the description of the suspects in the 6400 block of Rumple Road.

The reporting witness was transported to Rumple Road and positively identified the suspects as the men he witnessed breaking into the home, Akee Isaac Williams and Jacob Quartez Montgomery.  The victim later arrived and reported several pieces of jewelry and a debit card were stolen during the B&E.

This case illustrates the importance of community involvement.  With the help of an engaged neighbor who took the time to report this activity, police were able to able to arrest these two property thieves.
