DA’s Crimes Against Persons Team Convicts 52 Violent Felons

Fifty-two (52) defendants plead guilty in Mecklenburg County Superior Court before The Honorable Robert C. Ervin, Superior Court Judge. The defendants entered their guilty pleas from October 3, 2011 - October 7, 2011. Among them were:

Kenneth Davis, 24, plead guilty to 1) robbery with a dangerous weapon and 2) discharging a firearm into occupied property. Davis was sentenced to 73-97 months in prison.

Daniel Robinson, 25, pled guilty to robbery with a dangerous weapon. Robinson was sentenced to 44-62 months in prison.

Christopher Moses, 23, pled guilty to robbery with a dangerous weapon. Moses was sentenced to 51-71 months in prison.

Jamarcus Reams, 25, pled guilty to discharging a firearm into an occupied vehicle. Reams was sentenced to 23-37 months in prison.

Antoine Ballard, 26, pled guilty to second degree rape of a child. Ballard was sentenced to 104-134 months in prison.

Enrique Aspauzo, 19, pled guilty to attempted statutory rape. Aspauzo was sentenced to 60-81 months in prison.

Thomas Cherry, 36, pled guilty to three counts of indecent liberties with a child. Cherry was sentenced to 60-72 months in prison.

Paul Abuzayed, 31, pled guilty to assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury. Abuzayed was sentenced to 20-33 months in prison.

Jairo Alfaro Umanzor, 29, pled guilty to two counts of robbery with a dangerous weapon. Umanzor was sentenced to 48-67 months in prison.
