Alert Neighbor Assists Police to Nab B&E Suspect

Scott Mueller
Central Division Officers with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department have arrested Scott Robert Mueller for his involvement in a recent breaking and entering of a motor vehicle case.

On Friday, April 20, 2012, at approximately 3:00 a.m., officers were dispatched to breaking and entering of a motor vehicle incident in the 300 block of S. Clarkson Street. A witness called 911 and stated she observed a suspect breaking into a vehicle. As officers arrived on the scene they observed a vehicle with broken glass and the suspect attempting to hide behind a tree. When officers approached the suspect they observed several motor vehicle parts that were lying on the ground beside the suspect.

Scott Mueller was taken into custody and charged with felony breaking and entering of a motor vehicle. It’s likely this arrest would not have been made had it not been for an engaged witness calling 911 to report this break-in. The CMPD continues to urge the community to call 911 if they see or hear anything suspicious.

Anyone with additional information concerning this case or suspect is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.
