Man Shot & Killed on Billingsley Rd

Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department Homicide Unit and A/D/W Unit are conducting a homicide investigation at 624 Billingsley Road in the Providence Division.  The call for service came in at 1:19am.

Providence Division patrol officers responded to an A/D/W call in reference to Ronald Martin shot at the listed address. When officers arrived on the scene they located the male on the front porch suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. The victim was pronounced deceased on scene by Medic. The victim has been positively identified as Ronald Monroe Martin.  The victim’s family has been notified of his death.

Detectives with the Homicide Unit and ADW Unit are canvassing the neighborhood to determine whether there are additional witnesses to this incident. The investigation is in its early stages.

Crime Scene Search responded to the call for service to process the scene and collect physical evidence. The Helicopter, K-9 and Gang and Vice Units all responded to the scene as well as representatives of the Mecklenburg County District Attorney’s Homicide Prosecution Team.
