Man Shot & Killed on Durham Lane

Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department Homicide Unit and A/D/W Unit are conducting a homicide investigation at 3614 Durham Lane in the North Division. The call for service came in at 11:34 pm  on Monday, May 21, 2012.  The victim has been identified as Rodney Emmett Robinson.   This is the 20th murder in Charlotte, NC so far in 2012.

North Division patrol officers responded to 3614 Durham Lane in reference to a shots fired call in the area. Upon arrival, they located a male inside the home suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Medic arrived on the scene and pronounced the victim deceased at 11:43 p.m.

No other people were inside the home when officers arrived on the scene. Detectives with the Homicide Unit and ADW Unit are canvassing the neighborhood to determine whether there are additional witnesses to this incident. The investigation is in its early stages.  Crime Scene Search responded to the call for service to process the scene and collect physical evidence. Representatives of the Mecklenburg County District Attorney’s Homicide Prosecution Team responded to the scene as well.
