Woman Stabs Boyfriend to Death During Domestic Dispute

Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department Homicide Unit are conducting a domestic violence related homicide investigation at 8013 Andover Creek Drive in the Steele Creek Division. The call for service came in at 10:07am, on Saturday, July 14, 2012.  The deceased has positively identified as Lonnie Denar McConico.

Steele Creek Division patrol officers responded to a call for service placed by a female who stated that she had stabbed her boyfriend.  When officers arrived on scene, they located the male suffering from a stab wound. Officers secured the scene for Medic, who pronounced the male deceased on scene. The female was transported voluntarily to CMPD Headquarters for questioning.   Detectives are canvassing surrounding apartments to determine if anyone has information that will aid in the investigation.

Crime Scene Search responded to the call for service to process the scene and collect physical evidence. The Special Victims Division responded to the scene to assist in the investigation. McConico's girlfriend, whose name is being withheld, is not being charged with a crime at this time. The case file will be reviewed with the Mecklenburg County District Attorney’s Office to determine if she will be charged at a later date.
