Updated: Man Chased & Shot During Car Reposession

UPDATE

Navoid Russell, 73, is in custody today after shooting a man attempting to repossess his car.

According to police, Russell and his grandson chased two men as they were towing his car away from the residence on Barfield Drive early Thursday morning.

The chase headed down Billy Graham Parkway where the Russell shot the driver of the tow truck in the shoulder with a high-powered rifle. The driver was taken to a local hospital for treatment and police say he should recover.  Reports say that the suspects didn't stop the chase, even after the vehicle became seperated from the tow truck.  Russell was arrested shortly afterward by CMPD and charged with  charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, inflicting serious injury and shooting into an occupied vehicle. His grandson, age unknown, has not been charged.
