Sweepstakes Breaking and Entering Cases arrest made

Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department have arrested Robert Antonio Tyson, DOB: 07/16/1980, and Demarcus Moore, DOB: 07/06/1986, for their involvement in several commercial breaking and entering cases.

On July 28, 2012, at approximately 4:00 a.m., undercover detectives with the CMPD who were working an operation to combat commercial breaking and entering cases observed Robert Antonio Tyson and Demarcus Moore break into and enter the Laid Back Jack’s sweepstakes parlor located at 838 Tyvola Road. (20120728042500)  The two suspects were taken into custody without incident.

During the investigation, detectives determined that the suspects committed several other similar breaking and entering cases in Mecklenburg County. Those cases include:

20120722020002- County Line Sweepstakes.         12820 N. Tryon Street
20120728100900- Pots of Gold Sweepstakes.         1530 Alleghany Dr.

Property stolen from several of the locations was recovered in Robert Antonio Tyson’s home, an additional residence, and a vehicle.  Detectives are also working to determine whether these suspects are involved in as many as twenty additional breaking and entering cases that are similar in nature. Robert Antonio Tyson has been charged with four counts of breaking and entering with force and four counts of felony larceny, Demarcus Moore has been charged with three counts breaking and entering with force and three counts of felony larceny.  Anyone with additional information with regard to these incidents or suspects is asked to call the Crime Stoppers tip line at 704.334.1600.
