Rowan County police officers responded to a call Monday evening which led them to discover a man suffering from a gunshot wound in a local park.
The call came shortly before 8:00 Monday evening. The victim had been shot in the lower part of the leg and was found at Cooleemee Park, located on Erwin Temple Church Road.
At this time, investigators haven't released the man's name or any information about a suspect. Authorities did, however, state that the man was taken to Rowan Regional Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
