Murderer Faced Crowd at Courthouse

Chris Brynarsky, a 32 year old father of 5 children was killed last October in Stallings by Mark Stephen Thomas (L). He was shot dead at the couple's custom detail shop in Stallings. (now in Matthews)

Police quickly arrested Thomas, who confessed. Sadly, Thomas bonded out of jail on the same day as Brynarsky's funeral.

Today, Thomas was greeted by Brynarsky's family and friends at the Union County courthouse. The group assembled to protest Thomas being released on a low $250,000 bond.

Chris' wife, Dana Brynarsky has collected more than 1,000 signatures on a petition asking the judge to raise Thomas’ bond while he awaits trial. The assistant district attorney attempted to do just that, but the hearing was rescheduled for Feb. 1st, as Thomas’ defense attorney was not in court due to illness. The group says it will be back for the next hearing and all the rest that follow. - News 14 Carolina
