Man Shot & Killed on Alma Court

On Friday, CMPD Officers responded to 2225 Alma Court around 5:30 in the morning in reference to someone shot. Upon arrival, officers found Leroy Hodge Jr, 65, inside the residence suffering from a gun shot wound to the neck. The victim was pronounced dead on the scene by medic.

Early this morning, members of CMPD's Violent Criminal Apprehension Team (VCAT) and SWAT arrested Jaquan R. Weathers (R) for the murder of Mr. Hodge. Weathers was located at the Red Roof Inn located at 3300 Queen City Drive shortly after midnight.

Weathers was arrested last October on charges of selling and delivering cocaine, running from police and carrying a concealed weapon. (gun) He sat in jail for 14 days and was released back on the streets.

As of today, CMPD has investigated three murders. In all three cases, the suspects were caught, arrested and charged with murder.
