Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police are searching for Tavarus Maurice Simpson, 30, who is wanted in connection with a burglary and rape. The suspect should be considered armed and dangerous.On the morning of December 5, 2006, a black male forcefully entered a residence where he physically assaulted one victim and sexually assaulted another victim. A third victim present was unharmed. The suspect also took the victim's cash before leaving the residence on foot. The victims were transported to the hospital where they were treated.
The investigation resulted in identifying Simpson as the perpetrator in this case. The following warrants have been obtained on Simpson: 1st degree Burglary, 1st degree Rape, Attempted Rape, Armed Robbery, Kidnapping, and Assault with a deadly weapon.
