Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department's Assault w/ Deadly Weapon (ADW) Unit Detectives are conducting an investigation into a shooting that left two victims suffering from gunshot wounds. The two victims have been identified; their names are being withheld pending family notification.
Eastway Division officers responded to an Assault with a Deadly Weapon call for service at 909 Van Every Street. When officers arrived they discovered two subjects had been shot. One of the subjects drove themselves to Carolinas Medical Center-Main and has non-life threatening injuries. The second subject was shot in the back and is currently listed in critical condition at Carolinas Medical Center-Main. Initial witness statements indicate that this shooting occurred outside during a house party.
Crime Scene Search responded to the scene to photograph it and collect physical evidence. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call 704-432-TIPS and speak directly to an ADW Unit Detective. Detective K. Pierce is the lead detective assigned to the case.
