Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department Homicide Unit is conducting an investigation into a shooting that occurred at the Breakfast Club, located at 225 North Caldwell Street. The incident took place shortly before 2:00 am on Friday, September 10, 2010. The victim has been identified as 25-year old Dominic Nicholas Mahone.
CMPD Central Division officers responded to a call for service at the Breakfast Club, where a male victim was shot in the head on the dance floor of the Breakfast Club. Medic arrived and the victim was transported to Carolinas Medical Center, where he later died.
Based on initial statements, witnesses stated the victim was confronted by a woman inside the club. She pulled out a gun and fired two shots at Dominic Mahone. Witnesses say she fled the scene in a vehicle described as a Royal Blue Chevrolet with custom rims.
A/D/W, Homicide, and the Gang Units are all on scene actively following up on leads as to the identity of the suspect and canvassing the area. Crime Scene Search responded to the scene collect physical evidence.
