Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department A/D/W and Homicide Units are conducting an investigation into a domestic violence call, which left Francis Xavier Stewart deceased. The incident took place at 4718 Cinderella Road in the North Tryon Division. The call for service came in at 12:15 am, on Sunday October 30, 2011.
North Tryon Division officers received a call for service in reference to a male subject that had been stabbed by his wife. When officers arrived, they located the victim suffering from a stab wound. Medic arrived and pronounced the victim deceased on scene. The victim and suspect were known to each other, this is not a random act of violence. Detectives are not looking for any additional suspects.
Clinicians with the Child Development-Community Policing (CDCP) Program were dispatched and responded to the Law Enforcement Center because children were present during the incident. The CDCP is a partnership between the CMPD and Mecklenburg County Provided Services Organization.
Crime Scene Search responded to the call for service to process the scene and collect physical evidence. Special Victims Unit Detectives and the Mecklenburg County District Attorney’s Homicide Prosecution Team responded to the scene as well.
