Woman Stabbed During Uptown Pub Brawl

UPDATE: The victim has been identified as Antoinette Latoya Baker. Homicide Unit Detectives have charged Katie Nicole Robinson with the murder of Ms. Baker.

Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department Homicide Unit and ADW Unit are conducting an investigation into a stabbing which left one woman dead outside of Hartigan’s Irish Pub. The initial incident took place inside Hartigan’s and spilled over into the common area outside the pub, at 601 South Cedar Street in the Central Division. The call for service was reported at 2:21am.

Central Division officers responded to an A/D/W call for service in reference to multiple female subjects who had been fighting, one of whom had been cut. When officers arrived on scene, they located the victim lying unresponsive in the common area outside the pub near the parking lot. Based upon initial witness statements, the victim and several other women were inside a bathroom at Hartigan’s and a fight broke out. Witnesses stated that the fight carried over to the common area outside the pub where the victim was stabbed with a broken beer bottle.

The victim was transported by Medic to Carolinas Medical Center where she was pronounced deceased shortly after arrival. The suspect in the stabbing remained on scene and has been transported to police headquarters along with multiple witnesses. Detectives have canvassed the area in an effort to determine if there are additional witnesses. As information develops, it will be released by the CMPD Public Affairs Office.
