Prostitution Sting Leads to Six Arrests

A sting operation in Charlotte produced six arrests for prostitution on Wednesday. Complaints from concerned citizens about prostitution-related robberies sparked the operation.

Both undercover and uniformed police officers took to the streets to identify the suspects in a sting of robberies and prostitution activity around the Eastway Drive and Frontenac Avenue areas located near Shamrock Drive.

Those arrested in the operation include 37 year-old Delmonica Cuthberson, 42 year-old Wendi Wolfe and Lisa Ayers, 20 year-old Chatal McFadden, and 21 year-old Michela Cornett. These women were charged on various prostitution-related solicitation and loitering charges. Twenty-two year-old Albert Henderson was charged with possession of firearm by felon.

Lincolnton Police Arrest Local Man for Sexual Assault Charges

Thirty-four year-old Anthony Thomas Ruffino was arrested Sunday by Lincolnton police on sexual assault charges.

A Lincolnton woman reported an incident involving Ruffino, prompting police to arrest him. Ruffino faces six charges including first-degree kidnapping, domestic assault on a female, possession of a firearm by felon, assault by pointing a gun, communicating threats, and interfering with emergency communications.

Because of the nature of his charges, Ruffino is jailed in Lincoln County without bond.

Rowan Sheriffs Arrest Felon for Firearm Theft

Eighteen year-old Richard Lee Wright III has been charged with felony breaking and entering, felony possession of a firearm by a felon, and three counts of felony larceny of a firearm. The charges stem from the theft of guns and ammunition in Rowan County, which Wright is accused of committing.

Rowan County Sheriff's received a report of a break-in burglary involving stolen four firearms, ammunition, and a crossbow at a home on the 500 block of Barber Junction Road, which is in northwest Rowan County. The call came at about 11:00 Tuesday morning.

Wright was arrested a short time later while walking down on Old US Highway 70, less than one mile from the scene of the theft. When police found him he was carrying one of the stolen shotguns in a large bag. A search of Wright's home produced the stolen ammunition and two of the other stolen guns. He is currently jailed in Rowan County under a $50,000 bond.
