3/23/06: Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police arrested three men in connection with the murder of 41-year old Bennie Whitfield. Detectives arrested Keon Thomas (Top) Marcus Logan (Middle) and Jamon Black (Bottom). All three are charged with murder, armed robbery and conspiracy.
All three men have extensive criminal records. --------
On Saturday, Bennie Whitfield, 41, was gunned down at a home located on Glenrock Drive, which is in the Springfield neighborhood of Charlotte. A family member said Whitfield was inside the home when five to six men showed up and threatened her aunt, who was dating Whitfield.
