CHARLOTTE, N.C. – A Charlotte teenager is facing drunken driving charges following a deadly accident near the Union County line.
Police said 19-year-old Kyle Heaberlin was intoxicated when his car collided with another vehicle at the intersection of Weddington and McKee roads just after 1:30 a.m. Sunday.
The driver of the other car, 26-year-old Janine Leigh Kelker, was killed.Heaberlin has been charged with driving while impaired, driving after drinking alcohol underage and driving with a revoked license.
