It appears both the victim and the suspect were driving in the same direction at the time of the shooting. The suspect fired more than two shots into the windshield of a Chevy truck injuring the 44 year old male driver. No one else was in the truck.
The victim, Carl Stevenson, suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken to Carolinas Medical Center.
Police shut down a few lanes of traffic for more than an hour while detectives collected evidence from the victim's truck. A police spokesman said the suspect may be driving an older model, white Crown Victorian car with tinted windows.

The second shooting occured around 2 a.m. Thursday morning on Old Pineville Road near Archdale Drive. Someone called 911 and told the operator that a driver had crashed into an embankment and a telephone pole on Old Pineville Road. When police arrived, they discovered the victim had been shot. Police say they have reason to believe the shooting took place in the parking lot of the nearby Carriage House Condominiums and the victim tried to drive away. Police checked with residents at the condominiums but have not said what they may have learned. The victim is in critical condition at Carolinas Medical Center. The third shooting occured around 5:30 a.m. on Thursday morning. The shooting occured on Timberbrook Drive while a man was on his way to work. He was hospitalized and his condition is unknown. There is no word on suspects in any of the shootings. Source: News14 Carolina
