1/2 Million Dollars of Cocaine Seized

Several law enforcement agencies, including the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, participated in a drug investigation of a Mexican drug ring operating in the area. The investigation ended Saturday when police found more than 14 kilos of cocaine, (31 pounds) worth a half of a million dollars.

Officers arrested these three men (pictured right) Anthony Rodriguez (Top R) Bismark Jose Hernandez-Cisne (L) and Rudolfo Cortez (Bottom R) and charged them with eight counts of trafficking cocaine and three counts of conspiring to traffic cocaine.

Undercover officers met with the three men in the parking lot of
8468 J.W. Clay Boulevard to purchase three kilos of cocaine. Once the suspects arrived officers seized the drugs and arrested the three men. 11 more kilos of cocaine were recovered from a home at 8028 Chestnut Ridge Drive.

Investigators learned drugs were traveling from Mexico to Atlanta, then to North Carolina where they were distributed to multiple sites around the state.

All three men are being held in the Mecklenburg County Jail.
