Seven robberies happened in Charlotte overnight, including two where the victims were injured, police said.
Among the robberies:
• An armed person robbed the Exxon gas station at 4235 Providence Road just after midnight Saturday. Police called in a search dog but were unable to locate the suspect.
• Three people hit a man over the head with something, then robbed him in the 2300 block of Statesville Road just before 2:30 a.m. Saturday. The man was not seriously injured. Police have no suspects.
• A man was assaulted and robbed by two people just before 3 a.m. in the 4500 block of N. Tryon St. The man's injuries were not life threatening. He told police that the robbers got away in a black four-door truck.
Police reported in March that robberies were down 18.2 percent compared to the first three months of 2005. Police encourage anyone with information on these crimes to call Crime Stoppers at (704) 334-1600. Callers remain anonymous and are eligible for rewards for tips that lead to an arrest.
