CMPD Homicide detectives were called to investigate Charlotte's 30th homicide of the year. Around 4 pm this afternoon, police received a call from residents on the 2500 block of Carrington Court (off Alleghany Street.) The callers stated they heard gunfire.
When police arrived, they found 51-year-old Jimmy Marvin Roberts Jr, (right) dead. He was shot in the back by his own brother, 37- year old Shawn Fortict Nichols. (left) Nichols was arrested and charged with murder. Police said Nichols and Roberts are brothers.
