Albemarle Rd Bank Robbed

Police are searching for a suspect following a bank robbery that happened on Tuesday afternoon in east Charlotte. According to police, the suspect entered the First Citizens Bank off Albemarle Road around 11:30 am.

The robber was armed with a handgun and demanded money from the teller. When he walked outside the bank, the red dye packs exploded, making the money that he had received useless. He was seen leaving in a black Pontiac Grand Am. No injuries were reported.
The suspect is a black man, standing about 5-foot-8 and weighing about 160 pounds. He was last seen wearing a blue ski mask, a Navy blue sweat jacket and blue jeans. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (704) 334-1600.
