CMPD is searching for a man who dressed up as a clown and robbed a South Charlotte bank this morning. The robbery occured at First Citizens Bank located on Pineville-Matthews Road around 9:30 am. The suspect entered the bank wearing a Hobo-type clown outfit, make-up and a gray wig. (Photo right)
Detectives found a dye pack behind the bank, but police are unsure if the robber got away with any cash. Witnesses observed the suspect driving a black Ford Explorer near the Carmel Commons.
The suspect is described as a black man in his 20's or early 30's. He is about 5' 10 and weighs 140 pounds.Anyone with information is urged to call Crimestoppers at 704-334-1600.
