A woman was shot in the face shortly after 3am this morning. According to police, several shots were fired at a house on Lake Drive in Charlotte. A woman inside suffered several wounds to her face. She was transported to Carolinas Medical Center via emergency traffic. The wounds are not considered to be life threatening.
The victim's mother and brother were inside the home at the time of the shooting but were not responsible for the shooting. Police recovered multiple shell casings in the street in front of the house. They also found more than a dozen bullet holes in the forward portion of the house.
