7 Robbery Arrests in 24 hours

Within 24 hours, seven men were arrested in Charlotte, NC on robbery charges. All the following arrests took place on 7/21/06. I have seen a growing trend of robberies in Charlotte and many include force and injuries are sustained by the victims.

I never understood why some people don’t feel they have to work for a living, like the rest of us. They feel they can just take rob from the honest, working people. Myself and most people I know work for everything we have! Why don’t these men feel the same way and what happened along the way to make them think it is ok to rob people? Is it their upbringing, environment or a bad choice of friends? Either way, it needs to stop!

~~ Definition of Robbery: NC defines robbery as theft or larceny of property or money through the offender's use of physical force or fear against a victim. Where a deadly weapon such as a gun is used or the victim suffers injury, the robbery may be charged as "armed" or "aggravated." Unlike burglary, the crime of robbery almost always requires the presence of a victim who suffers actual injury, or is threatened with harm.
