Police are searching for the man who robbed a Pizza Hut on Fairview Road and pistol-whipped an employee Tuesday afternoon.
Officers said a black man entered the south Charlotte store around 4:15 p.m., showed a gun and demanded money. The robber then struck the clerk with his weapon. The suspect escaped with an undisclosed sum of cash in a blue car driven by a white man.
The employee was transported to the hospital with minor injuries. Police said the crime is unusual because of the afternoon hour and because it occurred in a shopping center that has a lot of foot traffic. They said robberies at pick-up pizza places usually occur late at night. Source: WSOC-TV
