UNCC Campus Crime Alert

A campus wide crime alert has been issued at UNC Charlotte as police search for a group of juveniles who they say are responsible for a number of crimes. The first incident happened late Monday evening. Police said a student was walking near Adkins Library and was approached by eight to ten teenagers. Two of the teens began yelling at the victim and struck him. The victim ran and was chased by two of the suspects, then robbed at knife point.

The second crime took place just a few hours later. This time a jogger was attacked. The report stated the jogger was also approached by the same group of teens. Police believe these suspects may also be responsible for property damage and larcenies elsewhere on campus.

If you have any information you are asked to call UNC Charlotte police at 704-687-2200. You can also call that number if you need an on-campus escort at night or use one of the 200 blue light phones found on campus. Sources:
