Three Businesses Robbed Overnight

Three businesses scattered across Charlotte were hit by robbers overnight. Police are looking for suspects in all three robberies. The first happened shortly before midnight at the Best Western motel in the 4000 block of Queen City Boulevard in north Charlotte. Four suspects armed with handguns entered the motel and forced an employee to open a safe. After taking money, the suspects fled in a dark-colored minivan driven by a fifth person, police say.

Then about 2:35 a.m., two men robbed the Petro Express in the 4300 block of Park Road. Those suspects, also armed, fled on foot.

The third robbery was about 3:10 a.m., in the 3500 block of Mount Holly-Huntersville Road. Police say employees at a Wendy's restaurant were leaving for the night, when they were approached in the parking lot by three men armed with knives. The suspects forced the employees to re-enter the building, and police say the suspects robbed the business. Those suspects also fled in a vehicle. Source:
