It is scary to think about the number of drunk drivers we have on the roads in Charlotte, NC. Last week, NC State Troopers made 94 DWI Arrests in the Charlotte-Union-Cabarrus area. The seven day crackdown included checkpoints in the areas that have had the highest number of alcohol related crashes and arrests. "Operation Summer Heat" was a statewide effort aimed at areas that traditionally have high numbers of DWI arrests, said Lt. Everett Clendenin of the N.C. Highway Patrol.
