CMPD is investigating a fatal overnight shooting at an east Charlotte hotel. Police responded to the Sun Suites Hotel on East Independence Boulevard around 1:15 this morning. When officers arrived, they found the body of Jeremiah Antonetty on a third floor balcony.According to investigators, Antonetty entered the hotel room of Joseph Chavis and showed a gun. Once inside the room, Anotonetty reportedly brandished a firearm and attempted to rob Chavis. Police say the gun went off when the two men began fighting, hitting and killing Antonetty. No charges have been filed. The case will be presented to the District Attorney. Source: WBTV
