Today, 54 year old Terry Johnson (L) was arrested uptown after he was caught stealing items from cars. Johnson was caught by surveillance cameras police have installed in various places across Charlotte. News 14 Carolina spoke with Captain Chuck Adkins of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department. “What they noticed today was an individual walking through the parking lots and just checking door handles until finally he found one vehicle that the door handle was unlocked,” said Adkins. "He entered that vehicle, stole a number of items. And just as he exited that vehicle and got a few feet away, the arrest was made."
