Strange Bank Robbery Attempt

Police have charged two people in connection with a failed bank robbery scheme that happened in east Charlotte this morning. The incident happened at the SunTrust Bank located on East Independence Boulevard just after 11 a.m.

According to police,
James Michael Trull entered the bank and told a teller that another man inside the bank was holding him hostage and forcing him to withdraw money. After questioning Trull and the suspect, police charged Trull with filing a false police report. The man who was apparently holding Trull hostage was charged with possession of a firearm by a felon.
