
Odoardi later barricaded himself inside his home with what looked like a high-powered assault rifle. Deputies called in the special response team and evacuated nearby homes. About two hours later, they say Odoardi tried to sneak out the back door. When deputies spotted him, they say he pointed his AR-15 assault rifle at them and they fired.
Odoardi was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries. He is listed as in critical condition. The deputies involved were placed on administrative duty, standard procedure in a shooting incident. Source: News 14 Carolina
