A neighborhood banned together on Saturday afternoon to show support for a woman whose home was shot into this week in hopes of prompting change. It's only been three days since someone shot up a house on Tillman Road. The gunfire shattered the storm door and left the front door dotted with bullet holes. Eyewitness News first talked with the victim on Wednesday night. She now tells us that she is still afraid after what happened, but is ready to show that she won't let the violence drive her away.
That's exactly the message a small, but dedicated group known as Stop The Killing wants to get spread throughout the community. Crusade member Tina White says, "We don't need to react every time something happens. We need to be about being involved all the time....I just hope people will look at this lady here who's house has been shot up and me speaking from experience and say we got to do something to help our young people go a different direction. We all got to work together."
This is something that the victim hopes will happen. She supports the Crusade in an effort to get some attention into the neighborhood, and says otherwise, "we don't stand a chance." Source: WSOC-TV
