Charlotte-Mecklenburg police are investigating two armed robberies of Family Dollar stores within a 25-minute span this morning in north Charlotte. Police have not said if the same suspects were involved in the crimes, but the description of the attackers is similar.
The first case happened shortly before 10 am at a Family Dollar store in the 6200 block of The Plaza. Police say two suspects robbed the store, with one man firing a shot through the window. Witnesses said the men left in a small white car, headed toward W.T. Harris Boulevard.
At 10:20 am, a Family Dollar store in the 2700 block of West Sugar Creek Road, not far from W.T. Harris Boulevard, reported a robbery. Witnesses said two men armed with guns robbed the store and left in a beige Honda or Toyota. Nobody was reported injured in either case. Source: The Charlotte Observer
