Charlotte-Mecklenburg police are searching for several suspects in unrelated shootings that occurred today in Charlotte, NC.
Shortly before 7 am this morning- a man was stuck by gunfire in the 6700 block of Hidden Forest Drive, near West Sugar Creek Road.
Around 7:15 am, a man was shot while waiting for a bus in the University area. The shooting happened on Hidden Forest Drive, off Tom Hunter Road. A man was standing at the bus stop when another man approached him, tried to rob him and shot him in the back, police said. The victim was rushed to Carolinas Medical Center. Police have only a vague description of the suspect.
Police are also investigating a shooting which happened around 7 pm in northwest Charlotte. Police say the male victim was shot in the leg while walking down Anita Court. He taken to the hospital. Police have not released a description of the suspect.
Around 9 pm, on Weeping Fig Lane, not far off Robinson Church Road, a dark colored SUV opened fire on a group of teenagers. A woman was shot walking down the street and was grazed in the back of the head by a bullet. She reportedly has minor injuries. Police are still looking for the SUV and the people inside.
Another shooting occurred on Forestbrook Drive. Police say a male victim had several acquaintances at his residence when one of the subjects shot him in the leg. Details are still unclear at this time. The victim was transported to CMC with serious injuries.
