An 18-year-old Charlotte man has been charged with murder for the shooting death of another man on Tuesday night in northeast Charlotte. Police say Jarvis Medlin has been charged in the death of Vernon James Turner, 22.Turner was found by police seriously wounded around 9:30 last night inside a pickup truck in the 3600 block of Frontenac Drive, off Eastway Drive. Turner was taken to Carolinas Medical Center but died a short time later. The truck in which Turner was driving was hit by gunfire, and was seen with the windows blown out.
Police say they quickly determined that Turner had been shot about a mile away, in the 2600 block of Dora Drive. Medlin was arrested as a result of a homicide investigation, police say. He has a record of previous arrests on drugs and firearms charges. Source: The Charlotte Observer
