Charlotte-Mecklenburg police officers were involved in a foot chase with a teenage boy today on McArthur Avenue. The awesome Jonathan Jones, freelance photographer- was there when CMPD caught the boy and made the arrest! He has graciously shared those photos with us...Around 1:30 pm, a CMPD officer attempted to stop a stolen white Dodge caravan on McArthur Avenue. The teen jumped from the running van and ran from the police officer to elude arrest. Additional police officers and the K-9 unit was brought in to assist in the chase.
Several different people on McArthur Ave called police after spotting the subject running through yards, jumping fences and one caller said he was in the woods in her backyard. Police and the K-9 team tracked the car thief down and arrested him at 1:48 pm.
