Around 3:40 this morning, CMPD Officers and Medic responded to 9115 Newfield Street in reference to someone shot. John Leroy Bullard, 29, was transported to Carolinas Medical Center and died while in surgery.The investigation has revealed that Bullard is the estranged husband of the female that resides at 9115 Newfield Street. The shooter, Moses Janor Lawrence, is the boyfriend of the female. Bullard forced his way into the residence and was shot after a physical altercation with Lawrence. This case will be presented to the District Attorney's Office to determine if any charges will be filed.
