CMPD had a very busy weekend with a rash of crimes all over Charlotte. Following is a recap of the crimes CMPD has reported. For more detailed information- visit to the Charlotte Crime Blotter.
Friday:
Two homicides occurred in the early morning hours on Friday. In the afternoon, police had the chase & standoff situation to deal with. On Friday night, police report three businesses were robbed at gunpoint and three individuals who were robbed at gunpoint. Two people were shot on Friday, although police were unable to locate one of the victims. The second shooting victim was shot during an argument and is in critical condition.
Saturday:
Police reported nine armed robberies. Four of the robberies involved businesses and five involved individuals getting robbed at gunpoint. Two people were shot on Saturday and one was killed. One of the shootings involved an armed robbery and the other appears to be self-defense.
