17 year old Josh Ammons was shot in the leg around 7 pm last night on the 7000 block of Pawtuckett Road. The shooting happened while children were out trick-or-treating in the street. 20 year old William Nance (Right) was arrested and charged with the shooting. Nance was charged with 2 counts of assault with a deadly weapon, assault on a child under 12 and assault with a weapon- serious injury. His bond was set at $14,500. This is Nance's 4th arrest in the past 3 years.
Police arrived on the scene after someone called 911 for shots fired- one struck. The victim, Josh Ammons (Left) left the scene before police and medic arrived. Ammons was walking with two other teenagers and one young boy when he was shot.Police located Ammons at his home on Clinton Road. He did not want to cooperate with police or get treated by medic but ended up going to the hospital. Ammons was arrested on September 4, 2006 for first degree burglary.
